E-Mailing Paul Kuliniewicz

If you have any questions, comments, praise, criticism, or just about anything else you want to tell me, please feel free to e-mail me. Unlike the operators of many other sites on the Internet, I do actually read and respond to all of the e-mail I get. Of course, due to the volume of mail I receive, it might take a few days before I'm able to reply. Keep that in mind especially if you ask me a question.

If you do have a question, please be sure to give enough information so that I can help you find a solution. E-mails that only say something like "Function x isn't working" isn't very helpful. Code fragments, when appropriate, are helpful. Remember, it's always better to give too much information than too little. I'll do my best to find a solution for your problem, but keep in mind that I might not be able to find a answer either.

Also, please e-mail me if you have a comment relating to the content of the site. This includes notifying me of any typos or errors that might pop up from time to time. You can also suggest functions, messages, and other API things for me to add to the site. There's no guarantee I'll be able to fulfill your request, but I do keep visitors' suggestions in mind when I add content to the API Guide.

And of course, if you just want to offer some praise, feel free to do so. Web site operators like to know they're appreciated.

One last thing. I have absolutely no tolerance for chain letters. I mean it. I get lots of e-mail, and I make an honest effort to reply to it all within a few days. As a result, sending me a chain letter only wastes my time. Be warned: if you send me even a single chain letter, your e-mail address will be filtered by my e-mail software, and any further e-mails you send will be deleted immediately and automatically. The same goes for spam. Sorry if this policy sounds harsh, but I need some way to keep the junk out of my mailbox. I just wish I didn't have to spend a paragraph explaining this policy....

So, without further ado, you can e-mail me at the following address: vbapi@vbapi.com. If you also want to encrypt the e-mail you send me, keep reading this page.

Sending Secure E-mail

If you are worried about someone other than me reading you're message, you have the option of encrypting your e-mail message before sending it to me. I use an encryption program called PGP (Pretty Good Privacy), a public key cryptosystem. A freeware version of the PGP software is available at that link. You may also use any encryption software compatible with PGP.

To send encrypted e-mail, use my public key to encrypt the message before sending it. That way, only I, the sole holder of the corresponding private key, can decrypt your message and read it. If you wish to receive an encrypted reply, you must include your public key in the message. Otherwise, I have no option but to send the reply in plaintext.

Naturally, if you aren't worried about a third party reading your message, you don't have to encrypt your message. I treat encrypted and unencrypted e-mails the same. It's your choice.

If you wish to verify the key's authenticity, e-mail me at vbapi@vbapi.com and ask for the key's fingerprint. That way you can verify that the key has not been tampered with and is my public key.

The following is my PGP public key, a 4096-bit DH/DSS key. Instead of copying and pasting the following PGP key block, you might find it easier to just download the key here.
