IFilter for PDF Files

Overview¶

After downloading and installing Adobe's PDF IFilter, it won't work. This article describes the extra steps necessary to get it to work.

Solution¶

1. Downloading and install Adobe's PDF IFilter from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4025

2. Set your system PATH environment variable to the "bin" folder of the "Ifilter" installation.

Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings link > Environment Variables button
To the "PATH" variable append "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe PDF iFilter 9 for 64-bit platforms\bin\". (VERIFY THIS LOCATION!)

3. Restart the computer.
