What is a Navigation Path?

A Navigation Path is a sequence of Pages (2 at least) that you can navigate through, in a sequential fashion. You get a list of the available Navigation Paths in the Page NavPath.aspx. Navigation Paths can be created, modified and deleted only by the Administrators of the Wiki, using the dedicated panel in the administration page.

Navigating Through Paths

Navigation of a Path

Navigation of a Path

If you start navigating a Path from the page NavPath.aspx, you will be redirected to the first Page of the sequence. An arrow will be available on the right of the title of the Page. If you click on that arrow, you'll be sent to the second Page of the sequence, and so on, until you reach the end of the sequence (in that case, the arrow will disappear). If you're viewing a Page different from the first one of the sequence, another arrow will be available on the left of the title, which allows you to go back in the sequence.

When a Page is included in one or more Navigation Paths, their names are listed just below the title of the Page, near the other Page information (such as the Categories). By clicking on one of them, you'll start navigating the Path. Using those links, you can also switch between Navigation Paths at any moment.

You can create, edit and delete Navigation Paths using the Nav. Paths tab of the administration interface, displayed in the picture on the right.

Creating a new Navigation Path

To create a new Navigation Path, click on the New button and insert a name for the Path. You can also select the Provider used to manage the new Path. Insert the Pages that you want to include in the Path in the main text area, separating them with commas. For example:

MainPage, Help, Something

Then click on the Save button.

Modifying a Navigation Path

You can modify an existing Navigation Path by selecting it in the list and clicking on the Edit button. You can modify the Pages included in the Path (as described above), but you cannot change the Name.

Deleting a Navigation Path

To delete a Navigation Path, select it in the list and click on the Delete button. You will be asked to confirm the operation.
